About Me
- I am an Episcopal priest, retired, author of "Spiritual Lemons", "The God Between Us," and a memoir, published in 2016: God Is Not A Boy's Name: Becoming Woman, Becoming Priest. In retirement I continue to write and publish. I have seven vocations and counting: survivor, overachiever, mother and grandmother of blended family of 7 children and 12 grandchildren, recovering codependent, pastoral counselor/spiritual director, author, and, yes, little old lady with chutzpah. INFJ type. #5 Enneagram, which means at best I'm a wise woman and at worst a know-it-all. Education for Ministry mentor/coordinator. 1/4 Jewish. Favorite way to be a priest: preside at an improv eucharist in a small group. Favorite heretical theology: Pelagianism. Favorite spirituality: Celtic spirituality, Ignatian prayer. Current aspiration: to get my passion for non-gendered/inclusive theological language into the mind of the church and its liturgies. I had asked cartoonist Harry Bliss for permission to use one of his cartoons on my blog. He granted permissions and thanked me for my appreciation of his work.He also asked if I would let others know of my appreciation of his work. His cartoon is THE perfect recipe for world peace!
I wrote: "May I share your cartoon of dog and squirrel out on a tree limb together? My blog spirituallemons.blogspot.com is published each Sunday. My readership is not huge but this message is so necessary in the age of WAR as a solution to everything except peace. I am a retired Episcopal priest. Thank you!"
I will add that despite his often sarcastic humor, Harry Bliss showed appreciation for my perspective and asked that I let people know. He is not a curmudgeon (my word not his) but a decent man with a gift for humor and compassion! Thanks Harry.
