In the beginning
You gave us
all Goodness
all Beauty.
But we chose
domination over dominion
greatness over goodness
hubris over humility
shepherd over sheep
power over prayer
And now we are choking
on our own exhaust.
You don’t forsake us
We forsake You.
Hush-sh-sh-sh
Faith in flower scent
Hope in bird swoop
